Deleted Tweet and How Kalonzo Confused Kenyans With Ambiguous Statement

Kalonzo Musyoka's Wiper party was the source of countrywide confusion on Tuesday, September 10, following a misleading statement.

Using their official party's Twitter account, they announced that the flamboyant and popular rapper Jackson Ngechu Makini aka CMB Prezzo, would be their candidate for the Kibra parliamentary seat.

"Jackson Makini aka Prezzo will vie for Kibra MP on a Wiper Ticket," read the tweet.

This led to hundreds of reactions, mostly from shocked netizens who were caught completely by surprise by the random announcement.

Minutes later, however, there emerged reports that the party was not actually fielding Prezzo in the November 7 mini poll but had only okayed his membership and intention to vie for the Kibra seat in 2022.

In a bizzare twist, the Wiper party posted another  conflicting post on their Twitter page to the effect that CMB Prezzo was indeed a candidate in the Kibra poll before deleting it after about 18 minutes.

Here is the tweet:

Moments later, Kalonzo issued a statement on the same, confirming that Prezzo had indeed joined his Wiper party.

"Today at Wiper Democratic Movement Headquarters in Karen I received Jackson Ngechu Makini aka CMB Prezzo who joined the Wiper Movement officially. Prezzo intends to vie in Kibra Constituency in the 2022 General Elections," he announced.
