Sakaja's Prank Stuns Jeff Koinange on Live TV

Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange and Makueni Senator, Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, were stunned by a prank pulled on them by Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja on live TV.

During an interview on Wednesday, September 11, Sakaja walked out during a break and did not state the reason he had left the show, leaving Jeff and Mutula astounded and in stitches.

"Sakaja left. We are no longer a dynamic duo. He left the group and he now wants to come back. Can somebody go and look for Sakaja," Mutula chipped in, as he and Jeff broke into laughter.

Sakaja walked back in as cameras rolled and sat down, stating that he needed to make another grand entrance.

"You know, when you are the Senator of Nairobi, you must always make an entrance," Sakaja joked heartily as the trio broke into more laughter.

During the show, Mutula and Sakaja poked fun at each other, creating humour around the hilarious political decisions that have rocked their two parties, Wiper and Jubilee respectively.

Mutula hit at Sakaja and Jubilee's decision to field a candidate in Kibra insisting that the party was plummeting.

"Not at all, Jubilee won't last. Let’s just be honest. It’s clear that the only thing they wanted to do is get into power," Mutula opined.

Sakaja went on to defend his party.

"Jubilee is not dead but it’s ailing and it can be treated and rejuvenated. We formed the party with the thought that 20 years later we will still have it, but differences have risen.

"However, McDonald Mariga is not a Ruto but a Jubilee candidate but I don’t know if President Uhuru Kenyatta will be there to campaign for him. He is the party leader, he can be represented by his deputy or come there himself; it’s his choice," Sakaja responded.

The two, however, agreed that Kibra was an open race and needed a lot of consideration.

"The people of Kibra believe that they can bring a change. Give them hope considering that if someone [the late Ken Okoth] who grew up in Kibra could rise and be an MP and be one of the best performing legislators in the country. What we want is someone who would come and uplift the people," Sakaja stated.

"What we should be talking about is are we improving our election system or using it to settle political scores, trying to create a picture of how 2022 will look like. Kibera is a breeding ground as ODM appear very worried yet traditionally it should be their seat," Mutula added.
