Kikuyu Benga musician, Kamande Wa Kioi, was on Friday, September 13, involved in a car accident.
Various reports indicated that the musician's car collided with a Nazigi Sacco bus on Kamiti road.
The musician is said to have escaped with slight injuries and taken to the Nairobi Women's hospital.
His vehicle, however, was written off.
The musician's friend, Ngaruiya Junior, took to his Facebook page to assure Kioi's fans that he was fairing on well.
"Kamande Wa Kioi was today involved in an accident and I want to thank God because he is fine. We are at the Nairobi Women's Hospital and he is receiving treatment," his post read.
Kioi is famous for his songs; Kaana Funny (a funny child), Uhuru ni Witu (Uhuru belongs to us), Karanga Chapo (chips and fries), Mu-Ovacado and Marigiti.
In August, 2019, popular benga musician, John De Matthew, died in a road crash along the Thika Superhighway.
He was headed home after attending a fundraiser for fellow musician, Peter Kagia’s ailing child. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Thika Nursing Home.
