US Bishop TD Jakes Advises Kenyan Pastor on Minting Money

Billionaire US Bishop Thomas Dexter Jakes Senior (TD Jakes) advised pastors on how to make money and earn a fortune instead of depending on the contribution of their flock.

The entrepreneur was speaking during an interview with Citizen TV's Lilian Muli on Friday, September 13.

"All you have to do is be authentic. Some pastors are inclined towards music, some are farmers. You do not have to live off your churches and ministries.

"I have my own businesses, televisions, films, corporations and my livelihood speaks for itself," the deacon spoke.

He went on to state that he always strived to make Kenya a better nation.

"A lot of things we are asking God for, we could do much better if we had better infrastructure and if we had better access to capital. I came to Kenya to talk about how better African-Americans can partner with Kenya and benefit from the exchange between the US and Kenya.

"I want to take the concerns back to the US and see if I can be a conduit through which they can continue to provide better healthcare for Kenyans," the televangelist asserted.

The bishop also toured Kenya to see how his projects had benefited locals. Over a decade ago, his ministry, Potter's House Church, dug boreholes for the communities in Ngong, Nairobi.

Access to quality healthcare is another priority for the award-winning author. He unveiled a paediatric wing dealing with children and their diseases at Melchizedek Hospital in Nairobi, during his September 2019 visit.

"What drives me changed over the years. My passion is to help people. I did not come to preach I came to inspire entrepreneurs to be behind more community-based projects and to harness the synergy with elected leaders," Jakes stated.
