Cohen's Family Gives in to Wife's Demand

Slain billionaire Tob Cohen's family, on Monday, September 16, yielded to one of his wife's demands - for her own pathologist to be present at the postmortem.

The family had settled to have a postmortem carried out on Monday but after the wife Sarah Wairimu's request to have her pathologist represented, the exercise was postponed to Tuesday, September 17.

According to a report by The Standard, the family also reached an agreement to accommodate Wairimu's pathologist.

State Counsel Nicholas Mutuku told the court that the autopsy would form part of the evidence that their case would be based on.

“It is true the matter has taken long but some of the delays have been occasioned by the defence because they took us in circles on the whereabouts of Cohen. It is not a ploy from us to get more time as alleged," requested Mutuku.

On Sunday, the family had also reached two other resolutions after his body was recovered inside a water tank in his home on Friday, September 13.

Speaking to the press on Sunday, September 15, the tycoon's sister revealed that the family had resolved to bury cohen's body in Nairobi according to his wishes.

The deceased had wished to have his body buried at the Jewish Cemetery on Wangari Maathai Road within 48 hours of his death.

Cohen's kin also decided to do away with a requiem mass in accordance with his will.

In a unanimous voice, the family also called on the prosecution to ensure that the late businessman gets justice.

Sarah Cohen, who is in police custody, is facing murder charges in connection to the tycoon's death.
