Governors were on Tuesday, September 17 ranked in order of performance in their counties with complete scores showing the level of their success or failure.
The poll involved a devolution assessment study by All Africa Advisors, a United Kingdom-based advisory firm. The results of the survey were announced during an event at the Intercontinental Hotel in Nairobi on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.
Machakos governor Alfred Mutua emerged victorious, as the best performing county executive beating Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, Nairobi's Mike Sonko, Makueni's Prof. Kivutha Kibwana, and Mombasa's Ali Hassan Joho in that order.
The survey conducted between June and August 2019, ranked the governors on the basis of development status in their respective counties.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was graded as the worst-performing governor by the firm, which specializes in commercial and developmental projects in Africa.
It further pointed out that infrastructure development was the topmost priority for most constituents and had the highest impact on satisfaction levels and perception of county government effectiveness.
