Millie Odhiambo Schools Babu Owino Over Attacking Uhuru on Citizen TV

Suba North Member of Parliament Millie Odhiambo lectured her compatriot, Embakasi East's Babu Owino, over attacking President Uhuru Kenyatta and the famous March 2018 handshake.

Odhiambo, while speaking on Citizen TV to Jeff Koinange, on Wednesday, September 18, informed the first-time MP that his ideas were naive and that with time, he will grow and develop in the field of politics.

"Owino and I are at a different level in relation to generation and experience. When he sees the handshake, he feels that Jubilee should not field a competitor. I don't think that is what it is, but he will learn in due season that the handshake does not mean our rivals do not compete against us," Odhiambo advised her party member on live TV.

Taking to his Facebook page, Owino accused the president of not being honest with the handshake between him and former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, after the head of state endorsed McDonald Mariga for Kibra Parliamentary seat.

He further termed Uhuru’s action as an act of betrayal.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, the president wished the former soccer star, who was accompanied by the Party’s secretary-general, Raphael Tuju, success in the by-elections scheduled for November 7.

Before the handshake, Odhiambo herself was a sworn enemy of the President. She severally launched ferocious attacks at him condemning him for undermining women.

"In politics, we are frenemies. The last time I met the president during the late Joyce Laboso's funeral, I hugged him," the legislator revealed.

During the interview, Millie Odhiambo tore into Deputy President William Ruto, asserting that the DP was out to stamp authority in Nairobi and that Kibra elections is his way to test waters.

"Kibra is ODM and ODM is Kibra. When Jubilee and ODM formed a union after the handshake, the yellow (URP - Ruto's former party) was absorbed and forgotten. Orange blended with Red (TNA - Uhuru's former party) and it became carmine red.

"Kibra by-election is all about the yellow trying to surface revive itself and assert its position in Nairobi. It is a good thing that Mariga is in the race," Odhiambo opined.
