3 More Police Officers Arrested Over Ksh72M ATM Heist [PHOTOS]

Three police officers were arrested on the night of Thursday, September 26, in connection to the Ksh72 million ATM Heist in Nairobi West.

Detectives from the Special Crimes Prevention Unit arrested constables Simon Gichui based in Baringo County Marigat Sub-county, Florence Wanjiru of the Githurai Police Post and Caroline Waithera who is based in Kiambu county,  Kikuyu Sub-county.

The sleuths also nabbed a KDF corporal Eunice Wangari of the Kahawa Garrison barracks, Transport Battalion in connection to the heist.

DCI announced the arrest on Friday, September 27, as they revealed the progress of the investigations on the heist.

The detectives also revealed that they had impounded a vehicle suspected to have been bought with proceeds from the robbery.

On September 7, two police officers were apprehended in connection to the same heist.

Constable Chris Ayienda Machogu of the Administration Police was found in possession of Ksh4 million.

Kenya Police Constable Vincent Owour was also arrested and Ksh3 million recovered at his house in Kendu Bay. 

The two were also said to have bought a Subaru Forester on the same day of the heist and were planning cross to  Uganda.
