Ken Okoth's Widow Embraces Anne Thumbi's Son

The late Ken Okoth's widow Monica Okoth, on Wednesday, October 2, agreed to share her late husband's estate with nominated Nairobi MCA Anne Thumbi.

Reports by the Daily Nation stated that the two had recorded a consent in court to seal their new agreement.

Monica finally came to terms with the DNA results that proved Thumbi's son was fathered by her late husband.

At first, the late legislator's wife had contested the DNA results, going on to argue that she had commissioned independent DNA tests on Okoth and Thumbi’s son, and was yet to receive the outcome.

However, the latest reports claim she has now had a change of heart, agreeing to share the late Okoth's properties with the legislator on behalf of his son.

Thumbi's lawyer, Danstan Omari, stated that they now intended to seek clarification from the court regarding the child's general welfare.

“The next question is to decide what are the entitlements of the child under the succession law. We will move to the High Court to get school fees, and medical cover for the child,” Omari stated.

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko lifted the lid on the existence of the late Ken Okoth's son born out of wedlock, during an animated speech at the MPs funeral.

“Ken will not forgive me if I don’t save the situation. Ken fell in love with a nurse called Anita from the Sonko rescue team.

“In 2017, he asked me to help him nominate his second wife to the County Assembly and out of respect for him, I nominated Ann Thumbi,” the governor confessed.
