Busy Nairobi Roads to be Closed For Two Weeks

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) on Sunday, October 6 announced the closure of major city roads.

In a public notice issued by the authority, Kingara and Naivasha roads are each set for a one week closure.

"We wish to inform members of the public and moreso motorists plying Kingara and Naivasha Road in Dagoretti that the two roads will be closed for one week each," KURA Director-General Silas M. Kinoti announced.

Pedestrians and motorists will be barred from using the road to pave way for the relocation of services.

Kingara road will be closed from October 10 from 6 am to October 17 at 6 am while Naivasha road, on the other hand, will be closed from October 17 as from 6 am to October 24, at 6 am.

The public was urged to avoid the said roads and instead use alternative routes.

On Saturday October 5, KURA announced that a section of the outer ring road would be closed on Sunday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The authority stated that traffic on both sides of the Mutindwa junction and Jogoo road would be affected.

The closure would allow the installation of a footbridge along the outer Ring Road near Tena estate.
