Police Boss Wins Hearts With Noble Act to Disabled Pupils

Endebess Sub-county Divisional Police Commander Selasioh Murithi won hearts by revealing that he teaches music and scouting during his free time.

Daily Nation on Tuesday, October 22, reported that Murithi visits St Lilina Special School in Trans Nzoia County where he selflessly uses his time to teach the children.

"I have been passionate about scouting and music for a long time. When I joined the administration at Utawala Academy, I immediately joined the force's band after graduating," he narrated.

Murithi, who graduated with a degree in Music from Kenyatta University, started scouting at Utawala Academy which was known to be the best in the co-curricular activity.

"When I was posted to Endebess seven months ago, I realised I was wasting my talent in scouting and music, so I decided to impart my knowledge to the learners," Murithi disclosed.

He teaches music using instruments donated to him by friends from all over the world.

The police boss also explained that the children were fast-leaners and he was pleased with their tremendous progress.

The father of two mentioned that he juggled between his administrative duties and spending time with the learners.

"When I'm not on duty I spend time with the children who have become fond of me. Apart from the music and scouting, I also teach them the importance of environmental conservation," Murithi noted.

He stated that his motivation was to make the children feel as though they were part of the community.

The 52-year-old had also bought board games such as scrabble, cards and special exercise books for music for children.
