Raila Odinga's Ex-Aide Dies

Former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party leader Raila Odinga's official photographer Ann Kamoni was reported to have died at Coptic Hospital in Nairobi.

According to ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale, Ms Kamoni died on Sunday, October 20 while receiving treatment at the hospital.

"May your soul rest in the arms of the Lord who formed you from the dust of the earth. My friend Ann Kamoni, may Christ who died for you admit you into his garden of paradise," Etale's Facebook post read.

Former ODM Deputy Director of Communications, Seth Odongo eulogised the photographer as a diligent worker.

"Her name, like many of her kind, only appeared on papers as a credit on a photo. I met her fighting addiction. She once broke down at Orange Househttps://www.kenyans.co.ke/news/45255-railas-friend-reaps-millions-government-after-court-ruling. She had waned and it showed. That she fought till now only showed her dogged determination to win. Sad she lost," Odongo posted.

Days before she died, the photojournalist had requested for blood donors while at the same hospital.

"Urgent blood appeal: Ann Kamoni, admitted at Coptic Hospital, is in urgent need of six pints of blood O+ positive. Contact person, Don," read an alert by Capital FM.

"She was brought to work briefly for Raila Odinga as a photographer and that is where I got acquainted with her," Odongo added.

He mentioned that trusted sourced claimed Kamoni had left behind a son.

Ms Kamoni had worked in various media houses including Nation Media Group (NMG) and Standard Media Group.
