Matiang'i Comes to the Aid of Ruto's Wife in Major Project

Interior CS Fred Matiangi on Tuesday, October 22, reiterated that the Ministry of Interior would support Mama Rachel Ruto's Cross Stitch International project.

Matiang'i was among government officials who had attended the Cross Stitch International project exhibition that was held at the Michael Joseph Center on Tuesday morning.

The Rachel Ruto-led project aims to uplift the socio-economic welfare of women inmates by training them on embroidery and providing beneficiaries with market linkages for their products.

The Interior CS expressed his support for the second lady's drive and admitted that he was touched by her efforts to empower inmates.

"Deeply touched by the positive transformation cross stitching has had on women inmates. We thank H.E. Rachel Ruto for the sacrifice she has made to make to make this a success, changing lives, one stitch at a time." CS Matiang'i tweeted.

Rachel took to Twitter to thank the CS for supporting the project and dedicating time to visit their exhibition as they strived to give hope and dignity to female inmates.

"We would like to thank our CS Dr. Fred Matiang'i Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Security in Kenya for the great support and for visiting the Cross Stitch International Exhibition at the Michael Joseph Center this morning." She tweeted.
