Citizen TV's Willy Tuva, popularly known as Mzazi, bagged the highly coveted Radio/TV Personality of the year 2019, on October 27, 2019 at the African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
Speaking from Dallas, Texas, the Mambo Mseto on Radio Citizen and Mseto EA on Citizen TV host shared his unbridled joy, going on to thank God as well as his viewers and listeners.
"Thanks be to God Almighty, my fans and family for supporting me in this. We have won. I have been crowned Africa's Best Radio/TV Personality in Afrimma 2019," he stated.
He went on to declare that to be recognised on such a global stage was a crowning moment after years of hard work.
"Getting this international recognition means a lot to me. Huu ni ushindi wetu sote, loosely translating to, this is our victory," an ecstatic Tuva stated.
Also flying the Kenyan flag was Akothee, who bagged the prestigious AFRIMMA Awards in the Best East African Female Artist category, trumping the likes of bongo diva, Vanessa Mdee and Victoria Kimani.
The event was a star-studded affair that saw the best talent from across the continent recognized in the various categories.
Kenya was well represented across the various categories by other celebrated artists including, Nyashinski, Khaligraph Jones, Sauti Sol and Poison Ivy.
