Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko and his Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho have for years now represented a small group of governors with a taste for high-end fashion.
Scrolling their timelines on social media, one is treated to tasteful photos with very appealing designer clothing whose over-the-top price can now be revealed.
According to a Tuesday, October 29, article by Daily Nation, the two governors have spent a combined Ksh 715,000 on some of their most expensive apparel yet. Adding their lavish timepieces, the prices cross the Ksh1 million mark by far.
Mike Sonko
In many of the governor's photos and videos posted online, it is very hard not to sight gold accessories as part of his outfit.
In early September 2019, Sonko donned an all Versace ensemble while heading to Kenya Revenue Offices for grilling over suspicious payments from his office. The shirt alone, Versace Baroque silk, was pegged at Ksh 144,000.
The governor has also been spotted wearing a Gucci GG Supreme Bucket hat which retails for Ksh 67,500 as well as a Globe-Trotter Riviera 20 trolley worth Ksh 200,000.
Sonko has previously admitted that he gravitates around Versace stuff and was once recorded dropping Ksh 4 million on jewelry.
Hassan Joho
Other than partying with the world's top socialite, Joho has an expensive taste in apparel, if the shirt he wore while partying with Paris Hilton is anything to go by. The shirt was priced at Ksh 60,000.
On his social media pages, Joho has been photographed wearing a Cotton Hawaiian shirt with Tropical King Print valued at Ksh 92,000 and another Versace Gold Barocco print silk sweater pegged at Ksh 89,000.
He also reportedly possesses a Versace Embroidered Medusa shirt that goes for Ksh63,000 and a pair of sneakers which would set you back Ksh 34,000.
In July 2019, the governor set tongues wagging after he stepped out donning a Ksh23 million Richard Mille Felipe Massa Flyback Chronograph watch.
Amason Kingi, Kilifi Governor
Kingi is also reportedly at a distant third on this list with some top dollars already spent to cover himself up.
The governor was once photographed with a high-end Versace Baroque silk shirt that costs Ksh 144,000 and a Versace Barocco print shirt worth Ksh 107,000.
