City Pastors Con Woman From Saudi Arabia Her Entire Life Savings

An emotional woman broke down in the streets of Nairobi after her life savings were swindled by conniving men who posed as pastors.

In the video doing rounds on social media on Tuesday, October 29, the unidentified Kenyan woman had allegedly landed from Saudi Arabia where she had worked for 2 years.

She then bumped into the pastors who waylaid her at Moi Avenue.

"This lady arrived from Saudia this afternoon after having been away for the last 2 years. She had all her documents, passport, Kshs 4,000 in cash and unspecified money in Arabian currency.

"Conmen posing as pastors approached her along Moi Avenue and after a brief dialogue, she realised that her bag which she was holding on her left-hand side was missing. At the same time, she realized that the pastors too had disappeared," a post read on Facebook.

The distraught woman could not hide her emotions as she wailed helplessly.

Onlookers tried to calm her down as she narrated that she had never sent any savings home.

"I have never sent any amount back home. I came back with all my savings just to be robbed by pastors," she mourned bitterly, wiping her tears with her shawl.

Being conned at home was so painful for the woman as over time, Kenyans have faced severe living conditions in Saudi Arabia, especially women working as domestic workers.

In 2015, the government laid out structures to save 130 girls stuck in the oil-rich nation.

The girls whose video was posted on social media by US-based Artist Nelson 'K-Nel' Muriuki drove Kenyans to launch an online campaign aimed at bringing the distressed girls back from captivity.

In June 2019, a Kenyan woman detained at the labour offices at Jouf Sakaka in Saudi Arabia sent audio recordings appealing for assistance to return home.

In the recording sent to the Daily Nation, Elizabeth Sineno narrated how her hopes of improving her life were thwarted.

The distraught woman gave details of how human trafficking was rampant in the Middle East nation after she was sold off to another unidentified woman by her former boss.
