Sonko Unveils Secret Tactic to End Elachi's Misery

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko hatched a plan to save embattled Speaker Beatrice Elachi. The governor held a closed-door meeting with 10 Nairobi County MCAs who were opposed to the return of the speaker.

Elachi has had a turbulent time securing her return as the MCA's have numerous times caused chaos at City Hall and even threatened her with impeachment.

Sonko on Friday, November 1, promised to solve the issues, stating that it was affecting service delivery in Nairobi.

"We all agreed that the current drama in Nairobi City County will not, shall not and is not going to affect service delivery to the great people of Nairobi.

"Plans are underway to bring together all our 122 MCAs to have us iron out the small differences which have been there so that we all focus on service delivery to the great people of Nairobi," Sonko posted on Facebook.

The governor on Tuesday, October 29 sent a stern warning to ward reps who have been hatching plans to oust Speaker, Elachi.

“It is because of selfish interests and some people choosing to be used by people who think they have a chance of controlling Nairobi in the future. It will not happen. I swear to God,” Sonko vowed.

The governor got wind of the plot to impeach Elachi after drama ensued at City Hall on Tuesday, October 29.

The angry county head further urged the MCAs to channel their energies to serving Nairobi residents instead of constantly engaging in sideshows.

“We cannot be playing politics from Monday to Monday when we have crucial matters to attend to. There are bills and other legislation that need to be passed," the governor advised.

Chaos rocked Nairobi County Assembly when Members of County Assembly (MCAs) clashed over petition to impeach Elachi.

Daily Nation on Tuesday, October 29 reported that the county assembly had turned into a war zone as MCAs went against each other over the plan to oust Elachi.
