Real Motive Behind Raila's New Alliance - Mudavadi

Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi on Monday, November 4, 2019, pointed an accusing finger at ODM Party leader Raila Odinga, claiming he was shielding corrupt individuals.

According to a report by Daily Nation, Musalia was not pleased by Raila's newly formed alliance with four governors, to drum up support for Kibra candidate Benard 'Imran' Okoth, ahead of the anticipated November 7 by-election.

Mudavadi alleged that the governors were only supporting Raila's choice candidate in exchange for protection from investigations.

On Sunday, November 3, Raila was joined by Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru, Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Alfred Mutua (Machakos) and Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni).

The ANC leader further claimed that many of the governors working with the opposition leader were under investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti over graft.

“I saw many governors here. Most of those governors have misappropriated county government resources and have their files at the DCI and EACC. They are seeking protection from him (Raila) against the ongoing investigations against them,” stated Mudavadi.

According to The Standard, the former deputy prime minister did not spare opposition MPs and slammed them for abandoning their role in Parliament.

"It's difficult to differentiate between ODM's John Mbadi and Jubilee's Aden Duale. It's hard to know who is the official leader of government business," Mudavadi mocked.

While campaigning for his Kibra candidate, Eliud Owalo, Mudavadi further dismissed Deputy President William Ruto's pledge that the Jubilee government would address the high cost of living.

“Ruto seems to be making fun of the Luhya community. There is a time he took a boxer and made him a Cabinet Secretary (CS). Now he wants a footballer to be an MP, next he will be after a netballer,” he stated.
