Ten people including 2 police officers were on Tuesday, October 5, killed in a fresh banditry attack at Jaldesa area in Marsabit County.
Reports by the Daily Nation indicate that security chiefs in the region are currently in a crisis meeting at Marsabit town.
The attacks were reported to have occurred on the ill-fated night after bandits ambushed a vehicle killing three.
The remaining seven people according to the Daily Nation met their death when they retaliated against the attack. They included two police officers who were on patrol.
A high-ranking security officer in the region told the publication that a cloud of tension had enveloped the area after the Tuesday night scare.
"It is true the sad incident occurred but I cannot comment further as this is a fluid situation that is still ongoing," the officer affirmed.
