Citizen TV's Yvonne Okwara Dismantles Moses Kuria's Apology

Citizen TV anchor Yvonne Okwara on Thursday, November 7, castigated Gatundu North MP Moses Kuria's apology on MPs' failing Kenyans.

While giving her take on News Gang, Okwara was not convinced by the legislator's candour stating that it was a political gimmick.

"He can speak all he wants, but isn't it interesting that now is when he has the spine to do this after leaving the office," she stated.

Okwara further explained that the MP admitted to the parliament's failures after being dropped by the president.

"The leaders are telling us in plain language that they have failed in abdicating their responsibilities, they have failed in their role of budget-making and they can't hold anyone to account.

"I am not convinced that what Moses Kuria gave us was an apology," she stated.

The scribe further divulged that an apology should have various aspects to it including the expression of sorrow.

"Own your guilty own part in it your specific wrongs there can't be shifting blame. Make amends or better yet resign if you can't make the change.

"Anything short of this is not an apology,  It is politricks, gimmicks and I'm not falling for it," she maintained.

Speaking during a panel discussion on the interest rate capping and debt at Movenpick Hotel on November 5, Moses Kuria admitted that the legislators had failed in their oversight role when it came to Kenya's debt.
