Police Overpower Machine Gun-wielding Gangsters in High-speed Chase

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations arrested armed robbers after a high-speed chase.

According to the DCI who shared the information on Twitter, the four criminals were arrested in Kitui County on Sunday night, November 10, 2019.

The sleuths recovered a machine gun after they pursued and intercepted the vehicle that was used to conduct a robbery.

"Four robbery with violence suspects were last night arrested and a sub-machine gun with several rounds of ammunition recovered at Wikililye Market in Kitui County," DCI posted.

The detectives also recovered two pangas, a mobile money agent phone. 

The gang that originally composed of six members had attacked and injured a man, before robbing him of Ksh 70,000.

Two criminals managed to escape with three mobile phones and credit cards.  

Among those arrested include Musembi Musyoka (42) and Kasola Nzulya (46). According to DCI, Musyoka and Nzulya are both ex-convicts from Kamiti Maximum Security Prison.

The other two were Peter Mwendwa a 43-year-old who is a Malindi Prison ex-convict and Silvester Onyango who is 35 years.

The Patchet SMG rifle was a standard issue rifle in Britain and is able to fire 500 rounds of ammunition per minute.
