As the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results were announced and Kenyans joined millions of pupils in celebrating their results, an Ex-K24 TV presenter could also not hide her joy after she passed with flying colours.
Olivia Wanjiku scored 404 marks out of 500 on Monday, November 18, 2019.
According to a report by People Daily, the 14-year-old is a former presenter of children's show Jus' Kids on the Mediamax-owned station.
Wanjiku emerged one of the top candidates in her school, Camel Catholic Primary School in Utawala, Nairobi.
The candidate enthusiastically revealed that she had worked extra hard and attributed her success to her parents and teachers.
"I knew I would pass my exams, but I did not expect I would pass the 400 mark.
"This comes as a pleasant surprise, but I owe it to the hard work I put in," Wanjiku told the news outlet.
The report further stated that she looked forward to being a criminologist. The course entails researching, studying, and analysing behaviours.
The release of the national examination results came barely 17 days after 1,088,986 pupils took part in the annual exercise.
He expressed delight at the results that showed girls were competing with boys better as compared to the previous year.
"The top candidate was Master Andy Michael Munyiri 440 of Damacrest Schools in Thogoto, 3 candidates tied in the second position, Flavian Onyango of Chakol girls, June Cheptoo Koech of Sangalo central primary school and Sean Michael Ndung'u of Kitengela International school scoring 439 marks," Magoha revealed.
