Missing Police Officer's Body Found in Friend's House

Police based in Kirinyaga discovered the rotting corpse of one of their colleagues at his friend's house in Mururi Trading Centre on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.

According to reports by Citizen Digital, the deceased was last seen at a local bar on Saturday, November 16.

Records further claimed that he was seen in the company of two people, one who has since been identified as the owner of the apartment where the body was found.

The dead officer was based at Difathas AP Police Post in Mwea East.

One of the residents, Michael Chomba, revealed that he called the police after he was flustered with a  nauseating stench emanating from the rented apartment.

A suspect has been placed in custody in relation to the mystery murder and is currently being held at Wang'uru Police Station.

The body of the deceased was moved to Kibugi Funeral Home in Kutus, with investigators stating that they had ordered for a full post mortem.

Earlier on, four police officers were arrested at Mamboleo junction along the Kisumu-Vihiga Road in Kisumu County after a dramatic shoot out.

According to Capital News, the intense shoot out was between Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission (EACC) officers and traffic officers at a traffic roadblock.
