EXCLUSIVE: Michelle Ntalami Narrates Near-Death Experience

The world needs strong women who will lift and build others, who will love and be loved. Women who live bravely, and are both tender and fierce. Women of indomitable will.

Budding entrepreneur and businesswoman Michelle Ntalami, is the very definition of such a woman, having founded a blossoming organic hair-care line, Marini Naturals.

Speaking exclusively to Kenyans.co.ke on November 22, the vibrant young lady recounted a harrowing tale that almost ended her life before it had even begun.

"I had a near-death experience back when I was seven years old. We used to house a huge litter of puppies. I was so fond of them that I literally used to crush food in my mouth and mouth-feed the puppies," she recalled.

"So, I got very sick and contracted rabies. I was taken to Gertrude's Children's Hospital but it only got worse and I was soon moved to the ICU where I started slipping into a coma," she added.

Ms Ntalami went on to reveal how her mum literally saved her life by pushing her to fight the disease which was eating her away with every breath.

"It was quite a chilling experience. But I still love dogs," the vivacious businesswoman explained.

She has since grown into one of the most promising entrepreneurs in the continent, with her organic hair-care line proving to be a lucrative business.

Her journey into the world of natural hair-care products was inspired by her dad, who was battling cancer.

She decided to cut her hair in solidarity with her father during his brave battle, and it was during this period that she had her 'light bulb moment,' going on to launch several natural hair-care products for all sexes.

Ms Ntalami's rise to the top has seen her listed on Top 40 Under 40 Women and crowned as the female entrepreneur of the year in 2018.
