Waiguru Takes Matiang'i Shopping [PHOTOS]

Interior CS Fred Matiang'i was hosted by Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru on Friday, November 29, 2019.

The two leaders visited Kagio Market where they bought groceries and interacted with vendors.

Photos sent to Kenyans.co.ke showed the duo purchasing Tomatoes and cowpeas at the market that was upgraded by the governor. 

The leaders then participated in a fundraiser for Gathuthini Hope Foundation, where they were joined by governors Hassan Joho (Mombasa), Joseph ole Lenko (Kajiado) and James Ongwae (Kisii).

"First stop was the inspection of Kagio Market where the governor expressed her joy in the cooperation residents of Kirinyaga have shown towards development projects being run in the county.

"She also encouraged residents to proceed with caution in matters politics, adding that at the end of the day peace is more important," read a statement from the governor's press team. 

Matiang'i also commissioned the construction of Kagio Police Station. 

"This is part of our reforms agenda for the police service. With support from the community, we'll make this facility the benchmark of policing in the region," Matiang'i tweeted.
