Churchill Gushes Over Comedian After Historic Night

Daniel 'Churchill' Ndambuki, was full of praise for the comedian from his celebrated show, after he bagged two top awards at the colourful Kalasha Awards gala held on November 30, at the Safari Park Hotel, Nairobi.

Fahamu Kazungu alias Kokoro 'Nyanyarukia' went home with the Best TV Comedy & Best TV Comedy Performance trophies respectively.

Churchill - who runs the popular comedy show, lauded the comedian, making it clear that he had worked his socks off to get to that point in his life.

"Congratulations to our very own Kokoro Nyanyarukia for the win at Kalasha Awards. Hongera!" an ecstatic Churchill posted on his facebook page.

Other winners during the elegant event included George Mo and Sarah Hassan, who were voted the Best Lead Actor and Actress respectively.

The 9th edition of the prestigious event also crowned Lost In Time - by Andrew Odera, as the Best Feature film, while Whistle Blower bagged the Best Short Film.

John Allan Naamu's Africa Uncensored’s My Cancer Story – Uncensored Mtaani won in the Best Documentary award category, while Amina Abdi Rabar was crowned as the Best Host in TV Show – for The Turn Up.

The biggest winners of the night were Pascal Tokodi and Nyce Wanjeri, who were voted the Best Lead Actor and Actress in a TV Drama respectively, in what turned out to be a truly colourful event.

The pool of 170 nominees from 32 categories were selected from 959 entries that were submitted for the nomination between 20th August and 20th October 2019.
