Former Nairobi County Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh has sounded a warning to a section of Jubilee leaders who were against 'the handshake', and the subsequent Building Bridges Initiative.
While addressing the media from her Parliament buildings office in a video that surfaced online on Friday, December 6, Shebesh called out leaders from the Mount Kenya region for the disloyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta and for not embracing the BBI.
"As we are speaking now, there seems to be no loyalty to President Uhuru from many of our Jubilee leaders, especially those from the Mt Kenya area," Shebesh stated.
"They started attacking the handshake stating that they would not take their views to the BBI, if someone doesn't want to state their views, then why would they want the opportunity to talk about the BBI, they are pretenders," She added.
The Youth CAS warned that President Uhuru Kenyatta was aware of their antics and that the head of state was tired of the unwarranted criticism towards him and the BBI.
In her address, Shebesh warned of consequences after she dared the Jubilee leaders to talk ill of the BBI report to their respective constituents.
"Let them go to their constituents and talk trash that the BBI wants to elevate somebody. Let them go after the president then we will know who is who," Shebesh warned.
"The president has been very patient with the tanga tanga team. The likes of Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri, Oscar Sudi, and company who are telling the president that he has failed," she added.
Shebesh made clear in her statement that the handshake between President Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga was a two-way street and therefore they was no way one could disrespect one of the two leaders without disrespecting the other.
She stated that the president was ready to address the issue.
"They have attacked the handshake. It is not a handshake without two hands, so if you attack Raila you attack Uhuru. So take that to the bank, the president is tired of it," Shebesh reiterated.
"Lemme tell you, from January Mt Kenya will here of it clearly. The president will speak when he wants to speak. Who are they to dictate when he should speak?" She posed.
