Ngunjiri Wambugu Turns Down Podium Invite at Ruto's Event [VIDEO]

Nyeri Town MP, Ngunjiri Wambugu was at the centre of a dramatic scene on Sunday, December 8, after he blatantly refused to address a crowd gathered by Deputy President William Ruto.

In a video that has been shared across multiple social media platforms, Nyeri County Women Representative, Rahab Mukami, can be seen and heard welcoming the legislator to the podium, an offer he declines, leading to loud jeers from the frenzied crowd.

The moment proved to be an awkward one for the MP as he sat just one seat away from DP Ruto, a man he had earlier on accused of hiring goons to burn black T-shirts that bore the phrases 'Uhuru's bedroom' on the very same day.

He captioned the video insinuating that the DP had put together youth from the central region who had decided to soil the name of the other faction within the Jubilee Party.

"So Ruto’s people have paid goons to burn Uhuru’s T-shirt’s in Nyeri? And to do it shouting ‘Ruto! Ruto!’" Shared the MP.

This incident took place just a few hours after Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria claimed that Wambugu was organising goons to disruptRuto's event.

The Nyeri town legislator's sentiments, however, did not sit well with a section of Kenyans who immediately called him out.

"Ruto has gone to Nyandarua, Muranga, and Kiambu but nothing like that has ever happened, why only in Nyeri? We know you and those goons that you have mobilized to do so," argued Antonio Ngure.

"Uhuru printed the T-shirts? This must have been done by your goons to cover up for some more damage you could cause. Why all this drama Ngunjiri?" another social media user complained.

"Ruto was in Nyandarua yesterday, he went to Meru too and he's in Makueni as we speak. He's being received with so much maturity as the DP," Kinuthia Kuria weighed in.

"President Uhuru Kenyatta must have served in the most difficult time among all the Presidents Kenya have had so far. It's never easy to work between Ruto and Raila. It takes back my mind to back in the days when I was school," wondered Vuga Sizwe.
