Nairobi Road Closure Before Christmas Spells Doom for Motorists

The government on Thursday, December 12, 2019, issued a notice to the public stating that a major road would be closed down for seven days.

Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) notified the general public that a section of Likoni Road at Enterprise Road junction would be closed for motorists from Saturday, December 14, until Friday, December 20.

The closure will affect adjacent roads such as Lusaka and Mombasa roads. 

The road will be barricaded from 6 am to 6 pm for the seven days.

"The section of the road will be closed due to the hoisting of beams in the ongoing works aimed at improving the junction.

"Motorists are advised to use alternative routes as directed by traffic marshals. We apologise for the inconvenience that may be caused as we endeavour to provide an efficient urban road network," the agency informed.

Those coming from Mombasa Road (General Motors) via Enterprise Road were advised to use a mapped Road A as an alternative route to access Likoni Road from Saturday, December 14 to Sunday, December 15.

Traffic coming from Mombasa Road (Southern Bypass Interchange) via Likoni Road will be diverted to Old Enterprise Road as an alternative route to access Enterprise Road from Saturday, December 14 to Sunday, December 15.

Drivers from Jogoo Road via Likoni Road will use Slip Road to access Enterprise Road from Monday, December 16 to Wednesday, December 18.

Traffic from Lusaka Road through Enterprise Road to use Slip Road as an alternative route to access Likoni Road, or proceed on Lusaka Road and join Jogoo Road at City Stadium Roundabout, from Thursday, December 19 to Saturday, December 20.
