9 Kenyan Women Feature on Top 100 Women CEOs In Africa Inaugural List

2019 Top 100 Women CEOs in Africa Inaugural list is out and only Nine Kenyan women featured on the continents prestigious list.

A press release statement published by Modern Ghana News , The Reset Global People in partnership with Pulse and Avance Media announced a list of 100 women leaders from all over the continent are at the helm at what they do.

Kenya happened to secure nine slots in this years Top 100 Women CEOs In Africa for the year 2019. 

Moreover, one of the Female CEOs on the prestigious list, Julie Gichuru of Arimus Media, also featured on the list of this years Top 100 Kenyans that was compiled by Kenyans.co.ke and released on December 4, 2019.

According to Kwame A. A. Opoku, CEO of Reset Global People, the nomination of these distinguished women is in relation to their works and accomplishments as the leader of their team which continues to inspire the next generation of women CEOs in Africa and across the world in alignment with SDGs Goal 5 and 10.

'It is an acknowledgement and appreciation of the women leaders who introduce innovation and lead the change. CEOs, GMs, MDs and personalities with executive roles in the businesses or organizations are the focus of the list.'

The list which was compiled by Reset Global People and Pulse editors with support from the PR and Ranking Agency; Avance Media, which considered four major thresh holds.

The size and importance of the woman-led business in the economy, the health and direction of the business, the arc of the woman’s career, and social and cultural influence. Furthermore, the release intimated that the eligibility was also based on the geo-location of the business.

The announcement confirmed representation from 24 countries,and features women who are noted to have broken the glass ceiling from across diverse sectors, making a name and case for women leaders on the continent.

Rebecca Maino - CEO and Managing Director at KenGen PLC

Joyce-Anne Wainaina - CEO of CitiBank Kenya and Regional Executive Director of Citibank subsidiaries in Kenya,Tanzania,Uganda and Zambia

Patience Mutesi - Rwanda Country Director for Trade Mark East Africa

Julie Gichuru - CEO Arimus Media, Independent Director at Acumen Communication Limited, Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative EA.
