A landlady from Meru County was charged in court after she was recorded assaulting one of her tenants following a disagreement.
In the video which was recorded by James Njoroge, the victim, the woman was seen engaging him in a war of words.
"You are stupid, do what you want, do what you want James. I won't return your money, do what you want. If you want war I am ready, who are you? She shouted as she boastfully loitered around the compound.
Njoroge revealed that the woman had stormed into his house, finding him in only a towel and vowed to kick him out.
The victim took to Twitter to share how the events unfolded before the assault and consequent court case.
"So today I got assaulted by a landlady in Meru. I couldn't defend myself because I know how it is when you defend yourself against ladies, hence the recording.
"The landlord enters your house whenever she wants because she owns the house and today, I only had a towel on," he began his thread of tweets.
The argument escalated when the landlady locked the tenant out of his house despite him claiming to have cleared his rent until March 2020.
The calm and collected tenant vowed to take action and reported the matter which got the lady arrested and charged in court.
"Looking forward to a court date. Any legal opinion is welcome. She just got released on cash bail. I have paid my rent until March 2020," the continued to tweet.
Njoroge mentioned that the caretaker of the residential houses had agreed to be his witness.
"The old man seated is the caretaker. He decided to risk his job just to stand for the truth. He is 80 years old, worked for the lady for more than 15 years. Actually he is 87 years old. He will be fired so I will organise something for him just for standing for the truth," Njoroge further revealed.
