Jubilee MP's Attack on Raila at Funeral Ends Badly for Him

A Jubilee Party learned a tough lesson on Saturday, December 14, when he went on a rant against former Prime Minister during the burial of the late Kijana Wamalwa's son, William Wamalwa, in Kitale.

According to a report by The Standard, Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa, while giving a speech at the proceeding, blamed Raila for his Kibra woes and vowed to ensure he never becomes president.

He went as far as sending the deceased to relay the information to the former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa.

"Willy go and tell your father that Barasa is going to deal with the man who denied him the chance to rule Kenya. Tell him that I’m going to 'unleash vengeance kicks' on Raila for the humiliation I got in Kibra (during) mini-poll," he stated.

He further turned his attention towards other legislators who were attending the funeral especially Saboti MP Caleb Amisi who he urged to leave the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) if he wanted to retain his seat in 2022.

"Mr Amisi, you know that you were lucky to have won the Saboti seat and you know that I am capable of ensuring you lose your seat in 2022 if you don't quit ODM,’’ he continued.

His utterances seemed to anger the mourners who heckled him forcing him to cut short his speech.

Other leaders who were present also rebuked him for disrespecting other leaders.

’Elected leaders should address other leaders with decorum. Don’t use a funeral platform to attack other leaders,’’  stated Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka.

“We know you are being used by someone to attack and insult respected leaders in the country and we will not tolerate your behavior,’’ added Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito.

William Makali Wamalwa Senior passed on Sunday, December 8, at their Milimani home in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County.
