Moses Kuria Trolls Gatundu South Demonstrators

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria came out on Wednesday, December 18, to respond to demonstrations held in his constituency against him.

In a Facebook post, Kuria made light of the matter by asking for prayers against 'enemies of progress' who had organised the protests at Gatundu Town.

"Pray for me. Today (December 18) maadui wa maendeleo (enemies of progress) had organised a 'Million Man March' demonstration against myself in Gatundu Town," Kuria stated.

The firebrand legislator went on to downplay the impact of the demonstration against him, which in his view, had only attracted a handful of participants.

"It was so massive that political historians are rushing there to make notes for history books.

"A number of Political Science PhD students have changed their thesis to 'Organising Record-Breaking Political Demonstrations: The case of deep State in Gatundu South."

Kuria further defended his development record in the constituency backing up his conviction with photos of roads he credited himself for constructing in the area.

"Note the quality of the roads where demonstrators were marching," he concluded the statement.

The statement by Kuria was a reaction to a section of the area residents who on Wednesday, December 18, took to Gatundu Town to protest against Kuria's apparent disrespect for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Gatundu South is the home constituency of President Kenyatta who had represented the area for two terms between 2002 and 2013 when he successfully ran for President.

His predecessor, Jossy Ngugi Nyumu, collapsed and died at his Runda home barely one year through his term paving way for Moses Kuria's entry into Parliamentary politics after he was elected unopposed in the ensuing by-election.
