Attendees of a high-end wedding were left stranded for hours after a Limousine hired for Ksh200,000 to transport the bride got involved in an accident.
According to a report by Citizen Digital, the luxurious vehicle crashed into a ditch along Mwea-Embu Road on Saturday, December 21, 2019.
The media house further indicated that the vehicle had been hired by the couple, Lee Njiru and Maureen Wangithi.
The bride was in the backseat with her entourage when another vehicle hit theirs on the side, throwing it into a ditch.
The team was headed to Kiamutugu in Gichugu, Kirinyaga County, where the wedding was scheduled to take place.
Quoting witnesses, the news outlet further noted that the driver of the limousine was skilled since he avoided a terrible crash by driving off the road.
“We hired the limousine at Ksh200,000 to transport the bride but right now she will be transported to the Christians Worship International Ministry in another vehicle, it is a big loss,” stated a source.
No one was, however, injured in the accident but the bride's team reportedly complained about the manner in which they arrived at the wedding.
According to a video that made rounds on social media, the accident caused a slight snarl-up along the road.
The limousine was taken to Wang’uru Police Station.
