Alice Wahome's Defence of Poor Performance Backfires

Kandara MP Alice Wahome on Sunday, December 29, found herself on the receiving end after she took on critics over her performance in the constituency.

A netizen showed the poor state of toilets in a school in her constituency.

A user by the name, Ngigi Boniface posted, "Status of Toilets in Kariguini primary school in Kandara Constituency represented by Alice Wahome."

The Jubilee legislator did not take the blame for the poor state of the facilities directing the fault to the education ministry.

"That is the shame of school infrastructure in Kenya. Not just Kandara," she stated.

Wahome went further to challenge those who faulted her for the poor school facility where her responsibilities as MP included fixing the school structures.

"I challenge those who have commented to tell me where in my contract as an MP, I was given the job of fixing school infrastructure then you will make sense, Haters," she added.

Her comments elicited reactions from a section of Kenyans online attracting over 700 comments with many calling her a failure as the area representative.

"Mheshimiwa, only people of Kandara have elected you. Serve your people and be ashamed, they elected you!" one user stated.

"You've been all over how Ruto is bringing maendeleo. So it's politics of your stomach and your family development," another wrote.
