K24 Anchor Anjlee Gadhvi Cremated

The late K24 TV news anchor Anjlee Gadhvi was on Saturday, January 11, cremated at Kariakor Hindu Crematorium.

Ms Gadhvi was cremated after a funeral service that took place at Shree Lohana Mahajan Mandal Temple on Desai Road, Nairobi.

The deceased succumbed on Friday, January 10, after a long battle with cancer at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi.

Gadhvi was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2014 but went public about it in 2015 after funds raised by family and friends got drained.

After she appealed for public help, Kenyans donated over Ksh6 million in four hours.

Many Kenyan journalists shared their messages of condolence through social media platforms.

"Anjlee fought a good fight and was an encouragement to cancer warriors. Her zeal and passion for the media and uplifting society is an inspiration to many. She will be truly missed. May God give her family strength in these difficult times," Kenyans.co.ke mourned.

"Oh my friend Anjlee Gadhvi, you fought that cancer with all your might. You did it for your kids, husband. Never lost hope. You always smiled through the pain and insisted on coming to work even at your weakest points. We believed you were winning...until now! RIP my friend," K24 TV Head of TV Peter Opondo posted.

"My deepest condolences and prayers go out to the family and friends of Anjlee Gadhvi. You were a great soul and warrior that bravely battled cancer," former Citizen TV anchor Hussein Mohamed wrote on Twitter.

"My sweet Anjlee. You fought so strong. Breaks my heart that you are gone. You are a warrior. May your spirit live on and may your family find strength at this time. I shall miss you," Betty Kyallo wrote on Instagram.
