Moses Kuria Makes Request to Uhuru in Angry Rant [VIDEO]

Five bloggers who were attending court in support of Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria were allegedly detained on Monday, January 13 at Capitol Hill Police Station in Nairobi County.

During a press conference at Milimani Law Courts, Kuria requested President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene in order for the five to be released.

"Mr President, leave my bloggers, I am the one who has a problem," he stated.

Kuria added that those arrested had gone to court to show their support in an assault case he is facing.

"These people woke up early in the morning, some came as far as Naivasha, Nakuru, Nanyuki, Embu and they have been coming only to witness justice and you arrest them, it is really a burden," Kuria continued.

While speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday morning, January 14, Kuria stated that the five had allegedly been arrested for inciting violence.

The Gatundu South MP was arrested on Friday, January 10, following claims by Kiambu activist, Joyce Wanja, that he had assaulted her.

"I was assaulted by Kuria after the show after I told him that his utterances during a past music show at Ruiru were demeaning to women.

"I have been going to the police to write statements concerning the same but I have never gotten justice," remarked Wanja.

Kuria, however, denied that there was any physical altercation.

"We just had a quarrel with the woman but there was no physical altercation.

"They want to defame me and because I am not a thief, they seized this opportunity," Kuria stated.
