Alice Wahome's Tough Warning to Sabina Chege Over Event Disruption Plan

Kandara MP Alice Wahome on Wednesday, January 15, issued a stern warning to Murang'a Woman Representative Sabina Chege and Nominated MP Maina Kamanda, over claims they were planning to disrupt her meeting.

In a statement sent to newsrooms, Wahome claimed that the duo had hatched a plan to disrupt an event at the Kandara Sub-county Headquarters, where she would be issuing bursaries to Form One students.

She, particularly, alleged that the two had met a group of youth on Monday, January 13, and asked them to disrupt the meeting.

"Alert: Information reaching me today morning is that Hon Maina Kamanda, Hon Sabina Chege and former member of Parliament and current Chairman National Irrigation Board Hon Joshua Toro met a group of 50 youth on 13th Jan 2020 led by Former Councillor Alex Mbote from Kigumo and Sabina Chege’s PA One Mr Karanja with instructions on payment of some money to come today and disrupt the function," she wrote on her social media pages.

The Kandara MP went ahead to add that she would not be intimidated by the supposed plans, adding that the event would go on as planned.

"The function shall go on. Any disruption, injuries or harm caused shall squarely be placed on the person’s mentioned and their agents," she concluded.

While speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, an angered Ms Chege stated that Wahome was propagating rumors and warned her on maligning her name.

"It's good that people do not use other people's name to earn mileage. If it was a political rally, maybe she would say so but this was a CDF event. Why would I want to disrupt it?

"She has a problem and I do not know what it is and it is unfair for her to use my name to purport that I would disrupt a CDF meeting," Sabina stated.

This is not the first time the Kandara MP and Chege are having a public spat.

On Friday, January 3, the Murang'a Women Rep criticised Wahome for piling blame on President Uhuru, whom she had earlier stated was to blame for the country's economic situation.

"She is blaming the president for everything in the country. Why not also blame Ruto because he is also in the government?" Chege posed.
