If I Have Wronged You, Please Forgive Me - Moses Kuria to Uhuru

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria on Wednesday, January 29, asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to forgive him for any of his shortcomings.

Kuria was speaking during a funeral service in Lari, Kiambu County when he asked for forgiveness and at the same time asked the president to protect a section of the leaders from being bullied.

"When we wake up every day and hear Kenyans call you the president, we become so happy and if we have wronged you, kindly forgive us but as our father, kindly shield us from embarrassment," he stated.

In an analogy, Kuria depicted the situation between the president, his deputy William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga.

"Since you brought home another wife, we are being looked down on. Can you imagine when we went for the BBI rally in Mombasa, I was pushed around because I did not stand when the ODM leader walked in?"

"As the children, when our father brings home another wife, there is nothing much we can do, however, kindly tell the second wife and her children to respect us," he continued.

In addition, Kuria dismissed claims that the Naivasha retreat by a section of Jubilee leaders was a plot to impeach the president.

"How can we plot to impeach someone we elected twice?" he questioned.

On the other hand, other Jubilee leaders who were also present during the funeral service stated that they did not support the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) that would create executive positions and extra layers of governance.

“The resolutions we made over the weekend in Naivasha is our position; we want to rid this country of poverty, empower Kenyans economically and generate jobs for our youths,” stated Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.

On Tuesday, January 28, Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed stated that Deputy President William Ruto's allies were plotting to impeach President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Through a press conference, Mohammed stated that the DP's allies were collecting signatures for the impeachment motion.

“We are aware their Naivasha agenda was not BBI. It was about impeaching President Uhuru Kenyatta. They collected signatures to ensure this happens. We are telling them, bring it on. We are ready," he continued.
