Kuria Spells Doom for Ngilu After Being Kicked Out of Kitui BBI Rally

Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria broke his silence after the drama that ensued at the Kitui Building Bridges Initiative rally on Saturday, February 1.

The legislator, via a Facebook post, condemned the incident and ridiculed the manner with which the event was conducted. He called out several leaders for allegedly inciting the incident.

Kuria expressed his displeasure at what transpired at the meeting but stated that he had forgiven them.

"Charity Ngilu (a very close personal friend, it hurts), James Nyoro and those in whose name violence was visited upon me, Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga. I forgive you," Kuria stated.

"Father forgive them for they know not what they are doing. For those who yet again after Mombasa (BBI) beat me up, I forgive you too. I know you all personally as we meet in Gor Mahia games," he wrote.

Kuria expressed his gratitude toward the people of Kitui, stating that they had made him and his colleagues proud. Kuria was in the company of Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw'a at the rally.

Members of the public in Kitui raised concerns and urged the security officers to abort the plan to eject Kuria from the convention. They shouted and booed for Moses Kuria to be offered a seat at the podium.

In a video that was seen by Kenyans.co.ke, irate kenyans could be heard shouting, "They say (BBI team) they want to unite Kenyans, yet they deny him a seat. Give him a seat!"

"To the great people of Kitui, God in heaven knows how emotional and grateful I am to you. You have done me and my colleagues proud," Kuria confessed.

He claimed that through the people's actions, they had indicated their desire to oust Governor Charity Ngilu come 2022. "To former Kitui governor and next governor of Kitui Prof Malombe, Kitui people miss you and it was clear," he professed.

The Deputy President William Ruto ally called upon Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka to ditch ODM leader Raila Odinga's camp, following a number of failed attempts at the presidency.

"For Kalonzo Musyoka my friend, open your eyes man. Raila has cheated you thrice and you are still singing praise and worship," Kuria remarked.

"And to all Kenyans, fasten your seat belts. The determination by some people to transition to executive prime minister is going to be vicious," Kuria urged.

He, alongside Murkomen and Ichung'wa, were denied the opportunity to address members of the public despite Murkomen being allowed to speak during the Mombasa BBI rally on January 24, 2020.
