The recently concluded Jubilee nominations have seen the Party lose a number of politicians who have already resigned and vowed to vie for various posts as independent candidates.
Among them include senior politicians who lost in the primaries but instead blamed the party officials of plotting to rig them out.
On Tuesday, Murang'a Senator Kembi Gitura tendered in his resignation letter to Jubilee claiming that there was massive rigging during the polls.
The Deputy Senate Speaker who was also in President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign team announced that he would defend his seat independently.
In Uasin Gishu County, businessman Kiprop Bundotich popularly known as Buzeki also announced that he would vie for the gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate.
Buzeki was contesting in the primaries but lost to incumbent Governor Jackson Mandago.
He has, however. maintained that he would back the re-election of President Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto.
In the meantime, Kirinyaga county boss Joseph Ndathi has also ditched the Party after losing the primaries to former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru.
Elsewhere, Lamu Senator Abu Chiaba, last week equally announced that he had quit active politics after he was trounced in the polls by Anwar Loitiptip, who garnered 3,868 against Chiaba's 1,076.
He conceded defeat shortly after the official announcement of the results and thanked the people of Lamu for the support in his years of representation.
Also in the list of defectors is Kajiado Senator Peter Mositet who left the party claiming that the concluded party primaries were a ”sham”.
Mositet, who had caused a scene after storming the Jubilee tallying centre, lost to Philip Mpaayei, who got 62,067 votes against the Senator's 52, 022.
