5 Suspected Gangsters Shot Dead in Nairobi's Kayole and Shauri Moyo Estates

Five people were shot dead in two different incidents that happened across Nairobi on Monday night.

In the first incident, four suspected robbers were gunned down after engaging police in a fierce shootout in Kayole estate.

The gangsters are said to have hijacked and robbed a motorist in Dandora after which they beat him and threw him off a moving vehicle.

The gang then fled towards Kayole but the stolen car was spotted in the estate. After being ordered to surrender, the group tried to escape leading to the shootings.

Confirming the incident, County police boss Japheth Koome stated that the group was wanted for a series of robberies in the area.

“The Toyota Voxy was later spotted in Kayole where the men were all shot as they ignored orders from police to surrender,” indicated Koome.

In addition to the stolen car, the police also recovered two sets of fake number plates, a gun and handcuffs from the deceased.

In the second shooting, a suspected thug was felled in Shauri Moyo estate after engaging in a botched robbery.

According to authorities, the man only identified as Jackii was being sought over a number of robberies within the city.

Police equally recovered a gun from the slain man.
