A five-year-old girl is fighting for her life at the Intensive Care Unit in Coast General Hospital, after she was raped and sodomised by unknown criminals at Kadongo slum in Mombasa, on Sunday night.
The minor who has since undergone reconstructive surgery, had her organs raptured following the defilement ordeal said to have lasted for four hours.
The girl was rushed to hospital on Monday, stayed in surgery for eight hours in an effort to rectify her damaged internal organs that bled profusely.
According to the girl's father (name withheld), his daughter disappeared from home at around 8pm and efforts to trace her bore no fruit.
“I went to report at Nyali Police Station at around 11.30pm after realising my daughter was missing, but at around 12.30am two of my neighbours brought her. She was soaked in blood and mud and when we looked at her, we realised that she had been raped and sodomised,” he said.
The victim was crying uncontrollably forcing her parents to rush her to hospital where she was admitted for further check-up.
“I don’t know who did this to my daughter. All I want to ask the police is to ensure the area is secure enough so that a similar action does not happen to another innocent child. I also pray that a speedy investigation is conducted to apprehend the culprits,” said the father while speaking to The Standard.
Police reports indicated that the attackers could have been well known drug addicts in the area.
Kisauni OCPD Fredrick Nyaga, affirmed that their investigations would lead to the arrest of the culprit(s).
