Bizarre Moment Raila Frees Hand From Murathe's Grip Goes Viral [VIDEO]

A bizarre moment of Raila freeing his hand from Murathe's grip has gone viral.The incident was captured on camera during the Meru BBI meeting on February 29, 2020.

The former Jubilee party Chairman David Murathe was speaking in Meru during the Mt. Kenya’s BBI summit after he was invited to the podium by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

The AU special envoy took to the podium and started inviting other leaders he referred to as 'friends'.

Murathe was the first on the list to speak. There was a bizarre moment as David Murathe started to speak, he grabbed Rila's hand but Raila disengaged himself from Murathe's grip.

The party leader went own to talk and used the same hand that had grabbed Raila Amolo Odinga to make gestures throughout his speech at the rally.

Murathe was quick to give an update on Rafael Tuju indicating that he was recovering well and would be back in the country on Wednesday, March 5, 2020.

“Our Party’s Secretary-General Raphael Tuju is in London and he will be back on Wednesday next week. Tuju is already well now and is fully recovered from the injuries'" he stated. 

The Jubilee Secretary-General who also serves as a CS without portfolio was flown On February 20, 2020, to the UK for specialized treatment on orders issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta. 

Murathe a harsh critic of Deputy President William Ruto, fired shots at the second in command stating that President Uhuru Kenyatta was not ready to hand over power to a thief in 2022.

“Hatutauziwa uoga,Uhuru hataachia mwizi kiti (we will not succumb to fear, Uhuru will not be leaving power to a thief)”, he reiterated.

Murathe who resigned in 2019, as the vice-chairman post of Jubilee has in the past claimed he would be starting a movement to make sure Ruto is not elected in 2022.

He has claimed on numerous occasions that the Mt Kenya region does not owe anyone any debt in 2022, saying that President Uhuru had not entered into any memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with his deputy in 2013.
