A collection of high-end cars have been driven out of embattled former sports CS Rashid Echesa compound to the DCI headquarters along Kiambu road.
A video by the Daily Nation on Monday, March 2, outside Echesa's compound shows three high-end vehicles being driven out of the posh homes in the surburbs of Karen Nairobi.
Kenyans.co.ke has since established that one of Echesa's luxury car is a Toyota Lexus IS 250, a 2014 model.
According to a car review website Edmunds, every 2014 Lexus IS 350 comes standard with anti-lock brakes, stability and traction control, front and rear side and side curtain airbags, and front knee airbags.
Also included are a rearview camera, Lexus Safety Connect (automatic collision notification, stolen vehicle location, and an emergency assistance button)
The vehicles, which cruise up to a speed of 209km/h, would set a buyer back Ksh7 million to import one from abroad.
Echesa also was in possession of a 2012 Mercedes Benz E350.
According to Kenya based car retail site Cheki.co.ke, the Mercedes Benz 350 E Class a similar model retails at Ksh3.5 million.
The luxurious vehicle is often a reserve for wealthy Kenyan citizens given its prohibitively high purchase and maintenance cost.
Also found in his compound was a Toyota V8 which seemed new and unused as it did not even have government registration plates.
Two other cars are also reported to have been driven away, bringing the vehicle's tally found in the compound to five.
The vehicles are alleged to have been acquired after defrauding a widow of her spouse's car
Echesa is in trouble after he was allegedly involved in a Ksh39 billion weapons scam alongside some foreign nationals, a case that is alleged to have been perpetuated in the Deputy President's Harambee Annex office.
