Kenya's Oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o brought Lagos to a standstill on March 1, as she partied the night away on her 37 birthday.
She was clearly on the 'age is nothing but a number' vibe as she let loose and tore up the dancefloor, showing off moves that would make 20-year-olds applaud.
The celebrated actress was in fine spirit at her glamorous event, going on to share some footage from her night out
"It's my birthday and I will party if I want to!" she posted, "This is 37. #FeelingTheLove," she added.
The birthday girl was accompanied by Nigerian celebrities D'banj, Teniola Apata, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Laolu Senbanjo and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Nyong’o’s Black Panther costar Danai Gurira showed her some love with a sweet tribute post, sharing a photo of them from the 2019 Oscars.
“Happy Birthday to the luminous Lupita. What an exciting year ahead you have, happy to share it with you!” she wrote. “Keep on shining!” Dani posted.
Several other A-list actors flooded her post with messages, with most pointing out just how amazing she looked.
Her fellow actress Jessica Chastain commented, “That birthday glow,”
“Happy Birthday !” Reese Witherspoon wrote while singer Ciara wrote, “Happy Birthday mama.”
The gifted actress is currently working on a TV adaptation of Adichie’s best-selling 2013 novel Americanah.
She will be executive producing with her friend Danai Gurira. The limited series has received a 10-episode order from HBO Max.
The Kenyan star is set to feature as Ifemelu, a young Nigerian woman who leaves her military-ruled country for the United State, where she faces racism for the first time.
