Ex-GSU Officer Shot Dead After Bombing 2 Cars

A former General Service Unit (GSU) officer was shot dead after allegedly bombing cars in Bungoma County.

According to a report by K24 TV, The officer had reportedly broken into a home in the area and robbed an Asian couple of money amounting to Ksh30,000 on Monday, March 30.

The man, aged 26, was, however, tracked down and shot dead within 48 hours.

The robber reportedly broke into the house where he found a woman. On his way out, he was confronted by the husband and in a panic, brandished a toy gun at the man.

The husband, however, noticed that the gun was a toy. On realising that, the robber is reported to have detonated an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) which damaged two cars.

The couple was, however, not harmed in the incident.

The police then launched investigations and when they found him, he is said to have brandished a gun at them and was gunned down.

Identification documents were found in his pockets including a national ID and NHIF cards bearing the name of Victor Lubakya Nganga.

Further investigations revealed that the suspect operated with six mobile phone SIM cards to rob members of the public.

Police also believed that the former GSU officers abandoned his job in 2018.
