Kisumu Governor Anyang' Nyong'o's presser was disrupted by his Senator Fred Outa while visiting those affected by floods at Kogalo Evacuation Centre.
Outa was incensed, accusing, Nyong'o of blocking Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Sanitation and Irrigation Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki from visiting the flood victims.
While speaking at the venue, Outa demanded Nyong'o to address his people instead of talking to journalists who were gathered around him.
"You don't address the nation, this is a county government, he must address his own people. Where is Tanui of National Irrigation Board? We don't want these stories that Nyong'o is giving, those are a bunch of stories, nonsense!"
Outa escalated accusations that the governor was blocking the two Cabinet Secretaries from visiting flood victims in Kisumu County.
"We understand that the governor of Kisumu County called Eugene Wamalwa not to come here and you can see that a lot of people have come here today to expect relief from the national government.
"So what we have decided, there will be no money that will be given to the county government to eat. We are asking the national government to channel all the resources to the National Irrigation Board," he stated.
"Today we don't want politics here, I made it very clear, we are not here for politics.
"We are here to be with our people who elected us but we don't want to engage in politics where a governor can call a CS who is already at the airport and tell him he was not consulted, that's why the CS cannot come," the senator claimed.
Various parts of the country have been witnessing heavy downpour with over 13,000 reported to be displaced by the perennial floods in Nyando.
This is not the first time that Nyong'o and Outa have had a public. On Friday, November 22 2019, the Senator blamed Nyong'o for the death of one of six bouncers killed in Busia.
On Wednesday, May 22 2019, Outa told off Nyando MP Jared Okello after the legislator accused him of attacking Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o.
