"Even though I am marked for death, I am gonna spark till I lose my breath. I no longer live in fear. My pistol close in hand, convinced this is my year," he expressed.

His last post before being gunned down by the SSU officers was a lengthy birthday message of love to his girlfriend.

"A special person who has always brought so much joy to my heart. I am thankful for every moment we spend together, and I wish our happiness never ends. May this day be as sunny as your smile, and as beautiful as you are. You shine every day, but on this day you will shine the brightest. I have never met a person who is as sweet as you are," the message shared on April 18 reads in part.

The suspected gangster was also fond of posting anti-police material on his page, with the latest one coming on April 5, when he shared a video of a suspected incident of extra-judicial killing.

Kariuki and an accomplice were gunned down in Ruiru, with the detectives stating that they recovered a pistol with 5 rounds of ammunition.

The Heckler & Koch P30 pistol, serial number 129-025397, will be subjected to ballistic examination.

They are said to have sped in a motorbike towards Kariobangi upon spotting the officers.

The two reportedly abandoned their motorcycle during the pursuit and jumped over the perimeter fence of Gichea Farm in Ruiru, where they were shot dead.

The police also told the media that Kariuki had earlier on in the day shot and killed a man and robbed him of Ksh 350,000.

Police have been after the gangster since 2015 after he allegedly killed another man during a robbery incident in Umoja.
