Jubilee Party Vice-Chairman David Murathe is a man known for his no-holds-barred approach to the political arena. However, it is said that if you want to see a grown man get choked up, ask him to describe how he feels about his daughter.

In Murathe's case, she goes by the name Waturi Wakairu Wamboye.

Currently serving as the Talent Recruitment Manager East Africa for Nova Pioneer (a network of schools that prides itself in developing generations of innovators and leaders), Waturi or Turi as she is fondly referred to by her close family, is a research analyst by profession.

"I am passionate about identifying top talent and potential in individuals and developing these into skilled and high performing teams through coaching, training and mentorship," reads an excerpt from her bio.

She also holds a Bachelor of Arts, Psychology Honors degree from United States International University (USIU), where she is currently pursuing a Masters in Organizational Development to add to her Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management.

The high achiever got hitched to the love of her life, Ernest Wakhusama, at a colourful and private wedding held at the Brackenhurst Hotel in Limuru in 2012.

The invite-only event was attended by some of Murathe's friends such as George Muhoho, Ferdinand Waititu as well as George Nyanja, James Nyoro and Peter Kiragu.

Turi and Ernest (a publisher by profession) are currently raising 2 beautiful girls, choosing to steer clear of the world of politics.

The two met back during their USIU days, with Ernest going on to share a detailed and expertly scripted narration of how they met, down to the day he ambushed her as she was about to sit for a test.

"I cried out and grabbed this beautiful lady in my arms. I twirled her in that corridor until she became self-conscious of those watching. I sealed the occasion with a kiss on her forehead and bid her goodbye and success in her driving test," reads an excerpt of his love story.

"Girls I had met since high-school, put up facades to show that they were 'above league' to interact with boys. Not Turi. She was a genuine original. Not a facsimile of any human being alive. But genuinely frank with her words and emotions," it further reads.

Turi is an alumnus of the Kianda Group of Schools, where she studied all the way through to high school.

Ernest is the son to Dr Samuel Wakhusama and Rev Everlyne Wakhusama.

American author Garrison Keillor once stated, "The father of a daughter is nothing but a high-class hostage. A father turns a stony face to his sons, berates them, shakes his antlers, paws the ground, snorts, runs them off into the underbrush, but when his daughter puts her arm over his shoulder and says, ‘Daddy, I need to ask you something,’ he is a pat of butter in a hot frying pan". a statement that holds true, even for the veteran politician.
